Hello,

So I have multiple scenes within a project. The problem I am having is, I want to reuse or duplicate some layers/frames from one scene in another scene but I want to be able to make changes to these layers and frames in the new scene without changing them in the original scene they are from. How I can I do that? So far, I have been importing a previous scene into a new scene as a sub xsheet and any changes I make occur in the original scene even if I copy the frames into a new layer. The only thing that mitigates this is if I cut the character or background with the cutout tool and place them in a new layer individually. But this is very impractical if I have a lot of frames I want to reuse. Is there anything I can do to make the subxsheet I import into a new scene independent from it's original scene?

Cheers

Go to the the scene folder in your windows explorer (or the equivalent explorer in mac) where your scene is saved. Copy the levels file that you want to duplicate and rename it as you want (the levels file is the .tlv file) Copy the .tpl file as well (the palette file) if you also want to copy the colors. Make sure the copied .tlv and .tpl files have the same file name. Go back to your x-sheet, right-click then click on 'load level'. Select the level you just copied. A pop out will appear saying "xxxxx doesn't belong to the current project...", select 'Load' on this pop out.

Since this is technically a different level from the one you copied it from, you can make edits on this new levels without affecting the original one.

Also, I just discovered this after I replied to your post, lol. You can go directly to you x-sheet, right-click then choose 'Load Level". Go to the location of the level you want to duplicate, right-click the .tlv file and choose 'Duplicate'. Load the duplicate level file.
