Hi Users,

We proudly announce that a cooperative feature with OpenToonz was introduced in the latest update of CLIP STUDIO PAINT EX by CELSYS, Inc.

In this version, "Export OpenToonz Files" command was added which exports all the level data to Toonz Raster Level files (TLV+TPL) and exports the timeline data to OpenToonz's scene file (TNZ). This feature will enhance a workflow of drawing with CLIP STUDIO PAINT EX and then ink&painting with OpenToonz.

We are so grateful to CELSYS engineers for their great work and cooperation!

(Please note that for now this feature is available only in the Japanese version of CLIP STUDIO PAINT EX.)

This is wonderful news!
But, it is possible to import OpenToonz scene back in Clip Studio Paint?

Has anyone had a chance to test this in the English version? I've updated to the newest version but it doesn't appear to be available :/

Do you mean where to find the opentoonz export, or do you mean how to launch Clip Paint Studio itself?

Actually, it wasn't an option under File>export animation. However, after I had restart my computer the option was available. But, now I can't seem to export due to an error message that comes up that says "Unable to find necessary file to export OpenToonz Scene File."

Are you using a version of Open Toonz downloaded from Morevna Project?   It does not work with OpenToonz export from Clip Studio to OT.  (I learned it the hard way).  Try downloading Open Toonz 1.1.3  from the official website instead of Morevna Project, and it will work.

As far as I can tell the two updates related to OpenToonz are:

"Scene files (extension: tnz) exported with [File] > [Export animation] > [OpenToonz scene file] will now correspond to the relative path. Even if the folder name or location is changed after exporting, the Toonz raster level file (extension: tlv) on OpenToonz will load correctly. You will need OpenToonz Ver 1.2.0 or later to load files using the relative path. [EX]"

"[Windows/macOS] When exporting a file from [File] > [Export animation] > [OpenToonz scene file], the image could not be exported if there was a space at the end of the destination folder name."

If there are other improvements I've missed please let us know.
