Morevna Project developed a version of OpenToonz integrating MyPaint brushes for raster levels, and it is now available for download.

Thanks for this!

It would be nice if the installer allowed users to install to a different location.
Upon running the Win64 bit installer I get a message that states OpenToonz is already installed and that the current installation must be uninstalled before proceeding.

Added:  I *think* a workaround is to uninstall the 'official' install first... then install the OT with MyPaint (installing it to different location and with a different stuff directory is likely ideal.... then reinstall the official release and allow it to install its defaults.
The thought being that other installations likely should not compete for the same space on a harddrive as the official branch of OpenToonz.

Hope all of this makes sense!

I'm investigating your OT with My Paint now!  :)

I ran into a little trouble at first trying to paint with the My Paint brushes.
It didn't take long to figure out I was trying to paint on a Vector Level.
The same goes for Toonz Raster... that doesn't work either.

Once I created a regular Raster Level I started to see considerable success.

So... looking good thus far!

Thanks much for this addition to OpenToonz!  :)

All credit goes to Ivan Mahonin over at Morevna Project. I'm not affiliated, but seeing that they don't use this group, I wanted to report this addition to everyone else. :)

I would recommend checking out Morevna Project if you haven't already. Their main goal is to create top-quality, professional animation using nothing but free, open-source software. So they have helped develop many cool additions to different programs!

@Tristan

Ah, I thought you were affiliated in some way with the Morevna Project folks.
I've been following their efforts (at a distance) and that interest was definitely renewed when they decided to add My Paint to OpenToonz.

I had tried to install before but the installer didn't work.
Your announcement as well as others on github encouraged me to give it another shot and now I've got OpenToonz with MyPaint brushes working... and they are a great addition. Once folks use the brushes they won't want to live without them.

Thanks for spreading the word.

Thanks.
I installed it, but it not working as it should. Some brushes don't paint, and the installation removed the original OpenToonz icon.
I know this will be a great tool.

Thanks again,

Brian

I may need help.  I uninstalled old OpenToonz version and installed the version with MyPaint (for Windows.)  I made sure I am on Raster level, (not Toonz Raster) and I did see MyPaint tab in the Style Editor… but when I tried to draw something in several different MyPaint styles (ink, pencil, glow, etc.), it doesn’t seem to be working – all I got is a uniform soft brush line every time. What did I do?

Thanks~

you might need to search the software you just download, i was having trouble to actually find the program, i try to download again, it said you need to actually uninstall, that got me realize that the program was in a different location
open: I suggest to right click and chose to open file location just to see the file and move it to the desktop just in case
