Hello! I am a new OpenToonz user, and I'm trying to make some text perfectly centered, however after a lot of research, I still can't figure it out. I would prefer the text to be vector, either made in the program or exported as a vector in a different program (Inkscape) as it looks nicer. Is it possible?

Hi Dux

You have found one of the more painful aspect of OpenToonz: working with text.

Basically, you have thre ways:
  1. Use te Text tool. Very limited (no alignment options), and only available on Toonz Raster levels and Vector levels.
  2. Text Iwa effect. Includes more options, such as alignment and center point, but requires use FX Schematic and enable viewer to see the result in real time. See more here.
  3. Use external text files. Honestly, my preferred option. Prepare you texts in other software and just import in OpenToonz.
Good luck!

I almost forgot!

If you decide to use Inkscape (an excelente option, btw), try to export the text as PNG. If you export as SVG, remember OpenToonz willl convert it into its own vector format PLI.

Sometimes, this conversion could generate unexpected results.

Best!
