I will be concise, I have animated in ClipStudioPain and I have exported as .TLV, everything works wonderfully.

My intention is to make a layer have a gradient without opacity, for this, in the gradient of two colors, a color, I have lowered the opacity to 0,
this works in a Toonz Vector layer normally, it looks like what I want to do, the problem is that it has not worked on an imported layer like .TLV,
for some reason the gradient does not work.

Has anyone tried this before? What has he achieved?

If you are trying to use the generated linear or radial gradient styles from the “Vector” tab of the style editor (before 1.2 these were found under the Special tab), those styles only work for vector levels.

If for some reason you don’t want a vector level, you could use a matte FX to add a gradient to your Toonz Raster level. In that case, draw your shape on the Toonz Raster frame & fill with a solid color. There are 2 ways to add the gradient, either with a vector level or in the FX Schematic. If you use the FX, in the FX Schematic you can add a gradient FX & adjust the settings as necessary. To add the gradient, right-click in the schematic background, go to Add FX then Gradient then select the gradient type of your choice. You can double click on the gradient node to adjust the gradient settings. Still in the schematic, select the gradient node (or gradient vector level node) and right-click. Go to Insert FX, then Matte, then Visible Matte In. Connect your Toonz Raster level to the red down socket of the Matte node by dragging from the blue arrow of the Toonz Raster level to the bottom red arrow of the Matte node. Save and enable preview to view the effect.

If you want an outline visible around the gradient - or want certain colors to ignore the gradient, you can insert a palette filter fx between the Toonz Raster node and the Matte node (palette filter is under Toonz_Level) . In that case, the fill color should be separate from the outline color. Check the number of the fill style in the level palette. Double click on the palette filter node to adjust the settings. Next to color indexes, delete all the numbers and add the number of your fill style. Make sure the action says keep. Close the settings, save and preview.

wow, you're amazing! I hope my English would not have been so rough, I still need the help of Google traslate!

I understood everything you have explained to me perfectly! easier could not have been explained, although another question arises ...

My main problem is when I export from ClipStudioPaint, it seems that the animation is exported in Toonz Level,
so I can not use the gradation by vectors, and I do not want to re-draw the entire gradient area ...

Do you know how to generate a gradient mask towards the layer that I want the gradient to be affected?

All this, to not have to redraw all the animation where the color gradient in OpenToonz will go,
because it is not yet possible (or do not know how to) export from ClipStudioPaint to Toonz Vector Layer.

Thanks for the help!

In OpenToonz, there are a few matte FX that work for masking: matte in, matte out, and visible matte in. The image from the FX schematic that was attached previously actually shows the node setup for the masking you want.
