Hi can someone help with this please ?
attached camera to capture images via USB on computer. The camera does appear in the camera/capture dialogue box. Tried two different cameras, tried pc windows 10 and mac same problem. Is there something basic I'm not doing ? Any advice welcome

There are some cameras that don't work directly with OpenToonz.
For those a utility running in the middle between camera and OpenToonz works well.
This might be the case for you.

I can't recall the name of the software but Shin Iwasawa himself (the guy who programmed the camera capture feature) uses it.
I'll see if I can't dig up that topic on github.

You may be right! there is a utility for the canon (it's a canon) however it's doesn't have onion skin so not sure how I would align the capture.

I see the utility he uses/used is called ManyCam.
So install and run ManyCam, then once it is running connect to it in OpenToonz.
Instead of selecting the camera from the dropdown select ManyCam

For my experience I didn't care for ManyCam but it worked and I would still use it if using my computers internal camera.
The external camera I purchased works great so I use that instead.
Speaking of which though... I haven't reconnected it since rearranging so need to do that ASAP.

The general topic via github is here:  https://github.com/opentoonz/opentoonz/issues/626

Hi Rodney

Thanks I'll give it a go over the weekend. Does say that DSLR are not supported but will try anyway.
