In the manual it says:

To name a node:

Double-click the node name and type a new name.

But it doesn't work for me. Is it a bug?

I have a hard time working with the FX Schematic because there's a lot of nodes and all their names read "Palett~lter 13", "Palett~lter10" etc. It would be nice if their names would not be abbreviated. Or otherwise, being able to rename or label them to "Character lines", "Character areas", "Character shadows" (also, preferably without being abbreviated) would be nice.

Please try Ctrl + double click.

I changed it from Toonz Harlequin reflecting the demands from Studio Ghibli staffs.

Ah great, thanks. That works. The manual should be updated then. Here's the page: https://opentoonz.readthedocs.io/en/latest/applying_special_fx.html?highlight=name%20node

Is there a way to disable abbreviations of node names?

Even "Mask shadow" becomes "Mask ~adow"...

Perhaps a smaller font, or have the nodes become smaller or bigger based on the text length? Like in ToonBoom: http://www.2danimationsoftwareguide.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Characterrig-900x446.png

In the current nightly build, node names are written in two lines with inserting line break if user does not modify the fx name.

Nice. I'll check it out when it's released.

(By the way, I am very impressed with OpenToonz and grateful for everyone who's putting hard work into its development. Thank you.)

@Lukas
Pending a thorough revision of that page of the manual, I've already corrected the instructions to rename nodes to reflect the current procedure.
