Ive been trying since day one to figure out the plastic tool and this is the first tutorial I have found that showed it. So I figured Id share it here
Basic steps are,
create your object, click plastic tool, click in the options toolbar- create mesh.
then skeleton tool on the newly created column to build your skeleton
then you can animate just like any other object

and my steps above are wrong, after realizing what i wrote. You never select skeleton tool, you stay in plastic tool and switch mode to build skeleton

Wow, I wouldn't have thought that it might be possible to animate display order between parts (the armes and the head) of the same drawing.

I agree, that surprised me as well.

Yes the plastic tool works but has anyone been able to save the scene and not lose the mesh layer and plastic animation?
Open Toonz has a weird bug that you have to save each level/all palettes or you lose your drawings when you reopen the scene, but it does not let me save the mesh-level so there is no way I have found to save the plastic animation work!
I am the only one having this problem? any fixes anyone?

Yes, I also find it impossible to save the mesh level. If I try Save Level, it displays an error message. If I try to Save Level As it crashes OpenToonz.

yes me too, the mesh seems to crash the 'save as' process. I'm trying different initial save settings, will see how that goes.

shame because the mesh/bones/ik in opentoonz is awesome.

I think that it would be a good idea if the OpenToonz forum moderators created a 'Bug Reports' thread as they did for the 'Crash Reports'.

The plastic tool save problem would be a clear case for this topic.
