I've been hearing about this app called Procreate for iPad, and how it's like Photoshop and Illustrator. One of the things that impresses me most about it(besides the amount of brushes it has) is that you can do animation in it. Basically, it takes all the layers and uses them as frames, which is great for hand drawn animation, or tradigital animation, hence the digitality of the iPad. I've heard it's best to try to animate on a daily basis to get better, and I figured animating in Procreate would benefit me, and it only costs $9.99. I'd like to know what you guys think about this.

Procreate is definitely my favorite iPad drawing app (OpenToonz is my favorite on macOS due to the great MyPaint brushes & how they are accessed). I hadn't realize that you could use ProCreate for animation. If you want to improve at anything in life, practicing every day is always a great strategy. I say go for it!

Something to keep in mind is that Procreate does export to psd files - which OpenToonz can load in a variety of ways. So you could easily start in Procreate and then use OpenToonz as needed afterwards.

Thanks for the tip, I'll keep that in mind.

While I'm on the subject, do you by any chance know how many layers a canvas of 1920x1080 on an iPad Pro 12.9 can have? I'd like to know so I can divide that number by 24 to see how many seconds maximum I can have for an animation of that screen size in Procreate.
