Hi,

It's easy to set the group setting to avoid spam:

- In the Google group window, go to the Group Settings.
- Go to the Access tab.
- At the bottom, on Message moderation: Make sure "messages from new members are moderated".

That should take care of the problem: the group admin will be the only one to see the spam and can ban the spammer.
