I wanted to add my conmments, but the system refuses and response to the mail.

Her is what I wanted to post:

Hello Dom,

looking into your screen-shot shows, that we deal with an OpenTM2 binary file named EQFBMRI.DLL. For this dedicated file, we frequently get "Virus Warnings" from virus-scanners, and there seems to be a "string" in the DLL which triggers a "virus warning" in some virus scanner programs. However, if you scan the EQFBMRI.DLL using a "prominent" scanner (such as KASPERSKY, SYMANTEC, McAfee etc.), you get NO negative scan. You can try it by yourself by using these two interesting web-services VIRUS TOTAL (http://www.virustotal.com) and VIRSCAN.ORG (http://virscan.org).

Just upload the file EQFBMRI.DLL to these websites, wait some minutes and have a look into the report. Up to 43 different scanners are used to scan the file, and you can see which virus software reports a problem and which one are not. I can only say that I trust in the most prominent virus scanner software, and I have no indicator that the EQFBMRI.DLL contains a virus.

Best regards
Gerhard

Hi,

sorry for bothering you via e-mail but Google tells me that I cannot post in the Google Group for opentm2 support.

So here is the thing:

I tried downloading open tm2, but upon completion, my antivirus displays the following:
http://img408.imageshack.us/i/tmvirus.jpg/

Which brings me to some of the most obvious questions:

1. What the hell is going on here?

2. What exactly is the reason for virus being reported?

3. I am not disabling my antivirus just because someone says "it's ok, don't worry". If it's OK, then there should have been no problems in the first place.

Please understand my situation - if I stepped on a landmine and there would be a stranger assuring me that it's ok to move, because the landmine is dud, I'd think twice about that.

Could you at least explain, why this happens? Does translation memory sharing have something to do with it?

please advise.

thanks

Best regards,
Dom
