Hi there,

I don't see many messages after 2011, so I'm not sure this is still in active development... I have tried OpenTM2 but I get too many crashes, it's a bit unusable for me (in Windows 8.1).

Anyway, my reason for writing is that I would like to know the maturity of OpenTM2 as an XLIFF editor: Can XLIFF files be translated or reviewed in OpenTM2 at all?

If yes:

- Is the editor compliant with XLIFF 1.2 version?
- Are alt-trans elements used by the editor?
- Are segments' states updated when confirming a segment?

Thank you very much.
Cheers, Manuel

Hi Manuel,

this is quite a late answer.

This autumn IBM released the OpenTM2 version it is world-wide using internally. This is the first stable Open Source version of OpenTM2, that has been released. It is very much improved to the one, you tested. So you might give it a try.

Also we are just on our way to start of the OpenTM2 Community.

Therefore this mailing list will shut down soon - please do not use it any more. You are very much welcome to use the new OpenTM2 Community Collaboration Site and ask your questions there. It will be answered for sure within a reasonable time frame.

Regarding your actual questions: I will answer them shortly at the OpenTM2 Community Collaboration Site.

best

Marc

Hi Manuel,

since this is a more specialized question, I did ask the OpenTM2 experts at IBM and got a really detailed answer.

You can find the answer at our new OpenTM2 Community Collaboration Site at

Hi Marc,

Better late than never. Thanks for your answer!

In the end, I chose OmegaT and it's going well.

Cheers, Manuel
