Dear OpenTM2 List Members,

I'm a translator interested in trying out OpenTM2 and would like to
see if I could do a linux build. I've got a background in programming
and have long been looking for a robust CAT program that I could run
in Linux (I've tried the existing options but they don't work with the
100-200 page documents I typically translate). I also may be able to
help with the open source Microsoft Word markup tables since you have
very good documentation for developers on working with markup tables.

Unfortunately, the subversion repository appears to be password-
protected. I can access the source via the web-based browser but can
access the source code via the repo.

Can anyone help me with the svn authentication? It's my understanding
that the source code has been licensed under the Eclipse license. How
can developers access the code? I'm not a C developer but do have
some experience building and creating (much less complex) make files
for C software in Linux. I've also done some work using Eclipse. I
should have enough programming background (in Python, PHP, and
Javascript) that I could work with the markup tables, particularly
since PHP has C-like syntax.

I just found out about this project and am very excited that robust TM
software is now available to the open source community. I look
forward to participating in its development.

Thank you,

Eric

Hello Eric,

SVN checkout shoud work with any (ok: most) svn clients using the URL
http://source.opentm2.org/svn/opentm2
with anonymous checkout.

The only tricky (or rather: counter-intuitive) part is the "http:"
instead of the usual "svn:" in the URL; we are using Port 80 (http) for
transport to avoid problems with firewalls.

A simple
svn co http://source.opentm2.org/svn/opentm2
should get you the code tree.

Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further problems
accessing the source.

Greetings
Michael Schneider (ms)
