Dear OpenTM2 Community,

[We apologize if you get this message from more than one list.]

OpenTM2 is off to a great start. We just released our first public
version after the initial contribution from IBM and are hard at work
on some great new features and ideas that will help support standards
across the workflow. We have realized, however, that OpenTM2 does not
have a visual identity, so we are turning to you for help. We are
requesting submissions of possible logos for OpenTM2 from the
community and will accept your ideas through September 10. At that
point we will select one of the submissions as the new OpenTM2 logo.
Submissions can be sent as attachments to contact...@gmail.com
with a copy to Arle Lommel (ar...@lisa.org).

Here are a few guidelines to keep in mind:

* We would like the logo submissions to fit cleanly in a rectangle
with a 3 (width) x 2 (height) ratio. This does not mean that your logo
must fit those ratios exactly, but we want something somewhat close to
those dimensions, not something tall and skinny or long and thin.

* Your logo should also be clear and legible when scaled to fit in a
box 100 pixels wide x 67 pixels tall. (Even though we do want
something legible at a small size, please do submit bigger images to
us.)

* The “OpenTM2” name should be clearly derivable from the image. This
means that if your logo does not convey the name, then you must also
be able somehow to fit the text “OpenTM2” next to it within the 3 x 2
rectangle.

* Don’t worry if your drawing isn’t perfect: We are looking for
compelling ideas for a logo and will work with whatever you provide.

* While we appreciate vector files if you are comfortable working with
tools like Adobe Illustrator, you can also provide Photoshop, GIF,
PNG, JPEG images, etc. We will redraw images in bit-map formats in a
vector format.

* Your submission must be your own work, or something you have rights
to use and you must be willing to sign rights to your submission over
to the OpenTM2 project if it is selected.

You can submit as many logos as you care to create (but please be
reasonable). While we cannot pay you for a winning submission, we will
recognize the winner on the OpenTM2 site and with a certificate of
recognition from the OpenTM2 steering committee.

We look forward to seeing your submissions.

Best regards,

The OpenTM2 Steering Committee
