NCP radio logs

Hi Jonathan,

I am running ot-ncp in raspberry pi board and ot-rcp in kw41z borad,

I am compiling ot-rcp with flags BORDER_ROUTER=1 JOINER=1 FULL_LOGS=1 USB=1 REFERENCE_DEVICE=0.

I have followed the guide given in site : https://openthread.io/guides/build/logs. to see the ot-rcp logs in syslog(raspberry pi).

Still I am not able to the ot-rcp logs in syslog.

Could you please provide me solution for viewing ot-rcp logs in syslog of host.

Just to confirm, did you also change OPENTHREAD_CONFIG_LOG_OUTPUT in examples/platforms/kw41z/openthread-core-kw41z-config.h to OPENTHREAD_CONFIG_LOG_OUTPUT_NCP_SPINEL?

Also note that RCP includes few source files by design and will have very little log output compared to NCP firmware.

Hi Jonathan,

Yes I have changed in,

OPENTHREAD_CONFIG_LOG_OUTPUT in examples/platforms/kw41z/openthread-core-kw41z-config.h to OPENTHREAD_CONFIG_LOG_OUTPUT_NCP_SPINEL.

Are you able to attach the syslog output that includes all the log output from starting wpantund and doing something like forming a network?

Yes, Please find attached syslog file, having log output from starting wpantund and forming a network.

I just tried the following (using OpenThread emulation on posix):

# make -f examples/Makefile-posix REFERENCE_DEVICE=0 FULL_LOGS=1

# make -f src/posix/Makefile-posix REFERENCE_DEVICE=0 FULL_LOGS=1

# sudo wpantund -s 'system:./output/posix/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/bin/ot-ncp ./output/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/bin/ot-rcp 1'

And was able to see logs from both the RCP and NCP:
