Join us as we delve into practical strategies for inclusive education and successful OpenTelemetry implementation!
There is no better time than now to introduce OpenTelemetry to your organization, and to invite developers, SREs, and operators to the observability party. If you are an Observability Expert within your organization, you've likely spent years immersed in observability and monitoring systems; this can inadvertently create assumptions that everyone else is as familiar with its concepts as you. However, terms that seem commonplace to you, such as telemetry, cardinality, and instrumentation, remain mysteries to others.
In this presentation, Paige Cruz, a Developer Advocate at Chronosphere, will share her insights into overcoming the "curse of knowledge" and facilitate a collective understanding of OpenTelemetry. Drawing from her experience developing the "OpenTelemetry 101: Let's Instrument" tracing workshop at KubeCon NA 2023, she will explore effective teaching practices aimed at guiding developers and SREs toward their own "aha" moments of comprehension.
