After an incredible Phase
1 of our re-curation effort, we are now opening up to the metadata of the tables from the Goldberg reviews. We already extended the available data a lot, with quite some tables which were "unknown" before, but happened to actually exist in the PDF.
A short recap of Phase 1: in just 30 days, we had 13 incredibly motivated curators, who
contributed a total of 60 hours, all voluntarily. I am still stunned
and so grateful! In Phase 1, we compared the actual numbers (temperature, pH, Keq'; more, if more was there) from a Google Docs
spreadsheet
to tables in PDF files.
For our next step in Phase 2, we estimate a need of 16 working hours. We will work on the "metadata", i.e. reaction, buffers, evaluation, ...
You
can contribute with time blocks as little as 3 minutes, to help us
finish the re-curation and get yourself into a manuscript for the database issue in Nucleic Acid Research (apart from eternal
gratefulness, of course).
I hope the manual is somewhat self-explanatory, but please always reach out when in doubt, and/or use the commenting function!
Thanks so much in advance for your support! And hoping to hear from you soon with questions on the annotation. :)
Best,
Robert
