Hey everyone,

So, time to begin planning our first event!

We need to nail down a couple of things:

1. Date/Time

2. Location

I'm personally leaning more in the direction of an installfest, but of
course that is limited by our ability to get a location to hold it.
One of the more suggested dates in December 12, which gives us roughly
four weeks for planning before the event. Let me know what you all
think! As soon as we have the basics out of the way, planning should
be rather smooth. :)

Thanks,

Jon

Let do both a post-launch party and installfest, if that cool.

Have you tried SUSE Studio? Need to create a Live CD,  an app you want to package and distribute , or create your own linux distro. Give SUSE Studio a try.

I'm cool with doing both.

Who knows, by then I may even have the wireless on my laptop working.
:) If not, I'll let one of you experts take care of it for me!

(Actually I think it is a bugzilla issue. I can see my home wireless
network, but I can't connect to it.)

No problem with Saturday Dec. 12th.
6pm?
Location: somewhere with free wifi/ethernet, tables/chairs.
The Emory Law School place?

Looks like Dec. 12th is it. I'll see about getting the location...
we'll need to talk to some ALE folks about good places to hold the
event. I think that a Saturday evening launch-party and installfest
would be a great idea.

That's what I'm shooting for. I'm just waiting on some confirmation for
the room at Emory. If that does not come through, there are other
options which I am looking at, such as hackerspaces.

When it comes to scheduling, the time is something we need to
discuss... I was thinking we could do an afternoon installfest and then
maybe meet up someplace afterwards for some dinner. Thoughts?
