I have found that you have given a new potential android application
which can be used as our source of project. That is
https://github.com/CUTR-at-USF/OpenTripPlanner-for-Android/wiki. The
first major application you have given for this project was
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.cyclestreets. I have
cloned the git repository of both of these projects and analyze the
both projects. According to my understanding the OpenTripPlanner for
Android is look professional than the Cycle street map. Please correct
me if I am wrong. So what do you prefer as the best application?
Also the project I have done in my uni (Travel Ceylon - Trip Planner
for Sri Lanka -
http://insightforfuture.blogspot.com/2012/01/travel-ceylon-travel-palnner-for-sri.html)
looks similar to the OpenTripPlanner for Android. So I have some new
features which can strength that more and more.
Also when I run the OpenTripPlanner for Android app a error raises at
the LogCat saying,
03-23 21:12:40.535: E/OTP(358): No route to display!
What will be the problem ?
Please help me to proceed further.

Hi
You can pick whichever application you want as the basis of your project proposal. I put some notes in one of the Android project ideas saying what I think should be included in the proposal. It would be worth bearing those in mind as you prepare your proposal. Please submit a draft early so we have chance to review it and ask questions before the deadline.
Thanks!

If the application does not have its own mailing list or issue tracker, you can try here, but for specific questions about the program, it would be best to try to get in touch with the developers of the program.

Dear Barbeau,Tran,
Thank You for the assistance sir. As I told early, I am trying to add
some functionality to Open Trip Planner as my GSOC project under
OpenStreetMaps. Also I have done Android project at my university,
which is similar to the OpenTripPlanner. I have used Google Maps for
that app. It is mainly based on Sri Lanka and It is called Travel
Ceylon.http://insightforfuture.blogspot.com/2012/01/travel-ceylon-inteligent-travel-planner.html
I have added following functionality to my app,
User can plan their own travel according to the following constrains,
after processing all those constrains the Travel Ceylon app will
suggest you are travel path to follow and list of interesting place
which you can see on the path.
Interest list of the traveler.
Starting position.
Destination
Time period of travel.
Special places to be included.
Special places to be avoided.
Cities can be marked as cities you stay for see place or just
passing cities.
When a user accept a suggested travel plan by the app, he can follow
it. On the way through the plan app will notify you about places your
are reaching, their importance, places you can visit etc.
So As I noticed, the OpenTripPlanner have most of these functionality.
But I cant figure out what have not given in OpenTripPlanner. So can
you please help me in that case ?
Also I have cloned the git repository to my machine. And I have change
its AndroidManifest.xml to change the Android SDK version, I have just
changed it to API 8 and tried to run it. Most of the time it docent
run,it shows only black screen most of the time. When it runs first it
ask to select a server,
Then I choose USA server, Then it shows the main UI. Then I choose my
starting point and Destination point and click the button Plan Trip.
Then it shows some pending dialog and after while it shows nothing.
When I check the LogCat at Eclipse it has following error.
03-23 21:12:40.535: E/OTP(358): No route to display!
I cant figure out what is the reason. I have done is change the apps
android version and tried to run it on API15 emulator. I have internet
connectivity well. Please help me to proceed further.
Thank You Very Much Sir

Andun,
Feel free to ask me and Khoa (cc’d) any questions. Khoa is
actively working on the application and working to resolve several
known issues. You may want to update your local git repo clone to the
most recent code on Github, since there are several fixes there, and I
believe the Github version should be fully functional now.
