I recently discovered Post Offices have different levels of classifications I knew about the different kinds but thought thier might be a broader distinction.

I am finished with the regular post offices but a few post officesin my area are classified as CPU(Contract Postal Unit). Meaning they are inside another store. On the usps website they are classified as post office locations. The automated centers have different classification.

Do we want these in the database?
For instance: CPU Edgewater Ace Hardware, CPU Attitudes Gift Shop, etc.
If so do I put CPU Edgewater Ace Hardware as name? I know we don't want abbreviations in database but is this an exception.

Thanks

If these situations are listed as Post Offices on the USPS website under "Post Office Locations"  section, they should be classified as a Post Office and the name should match what is on the USPS website.  If these are not listed on the USPS website, don't collect.

If the name on the USPS website is CPU Edgewater or similar, spell out the CPU as Contract Postal Unit as well.  So the Edgewater site would be spelled out as "Contract Postal Unit Edgewater Ace Hardware".  I checked this one and it does show up as a Post Office under Post Office Locations search.

The word "Contract" will identify these features as not USPS property but functioning with most of the regular post office services.
