Hey guys,

Using Syba sy-pex40008, backblaze backplanes and X9SCL-F mobo.

Only one drive is being detected per backplane (only one power light comes on) all 5 drives definitely spin up.

Anyone had the same problem/have any ideas of what the issue might be?

Cheers

Nick

This is my observation: You have to boot up the OS for all the lights to go up. During POST, only one drive per backplane is visible to the computer, and only one LED lights up. I don't know why this happens.

If this has not been answered, there is a different between using a card that supports backplanes and a card that supports drive expanders.  If the card you are using supports expanders, it will be incompatible with the backplane boards.  This is why the backplanes are not compatible with LSI raid cards.
