Jebus, where are the fans?!? Idling MAID so I guess it doesn't get so hot, and turning stick shaped power supplies 90 degrees is a neat trick. But highly dependent on the object storage layer allowing idling.

For that kind of money, a SuperMicro chassis seems more attractive for any use case beyond raw archival.

As a pod alternative the SC847DE16-R1K28LPB has the dual disk trays for up to 72 3.5 inch disks, there's a 90 disk JBOD chassis variant, and now a new top loader 90 disk JBOD now too. Plus if you absolutely want to, you can get the SMR disks and idle them yourself.
