CSULB Shark SAT - Star Tracker

Hello everyone,

I came across this group while reading NASA paper AAS 20-028 and wanted to reach out.

I’m part of Shark SAT, a student-run club at California State University, Long Beach. Our mission is to launch our first satellite to measure light pollution. I’m on the Attitude Determination and Control System (ADCS) team, where we’re working to improve our satellite’s pointing accuracy by incorporating additional sensors. As part of this effort, I’m researching how to develop a star tracker.

Does anyone have general advice or tips for designing and implementing a star tracker? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
