Job Description:
The Project Manager is accountable for the successful management of information technology projects: new applications and systems, together with enhancements to existing systems and applications. The position’s responsibilities include ensuring proper and timely control and dissemination of all necessary supporting documentation including requirements, budgets, project plans, and vendor information in a manner conducive to proper project implementation and successful completion. The position requires the ability to actively engage, coordinate and manage both clients and Information Technology resources to ensure successful project implementation. Specializes in understanding the needs of the business owners and translating them into technical specifications. This position will act as an interface between business owners and technology departments, as well as implementing and supporting the Enterprise Applications within several core functional areas of the business: resort systems (gaming and hospitality), and administrative systems (human resources and finance). The position involves analysis and presentation of information to business owners. It requires proficiency with developing requirements documents, knowledge of the business and strong communication skills. The position will also be responsible for managing the QA of any new or changes to the applications before they are released and deployed into the Production environment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible planning and executing projects to successfully deliver scope, with quality, on time, and on budget.
Follows and exemplifies consistent project management practices, processes and metrics
Work with Application Portfolio teams, vendors and service providers to evaluate products and solutions, and perform cost/benefit analyses in support of meeting project objectives.
Manage projects in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
Responsible for project management deliverables (scope document, plan, schedule/timelines, budget, etc) and for ensuring team produces all project deliverables applicable to methodology being following (functional requirements, test plans, etc)
Work closely with functional managers, operational staff, vendors and suppliers on functional and technical requirements for the projects.
Ensure projects meet both functional and non-functional requirements for the projects and that applications are effectively transitioned to support and operations.
Determine resource requirements and secure adequate resources to ensure projects are completed within committed time and budget.
Ensure that the status of projects is effectively and timely communicated to all stakeholders, including periodic status and progress reviews with management.
Responsible for tracking, resolving, and escalating project risks, issues and action items.
Develop clear, business language presentations for business senior leadership to support swift decision making and issue resolution when needed.
Establishes and maintains a strong working relationship with the senior and functional managers throughout the key business areas and within IT.
Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously, including rollout to single or multiple properties.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Monitor and adapt to enhancements of technical delivery trends such and emerging standards.
Develop and execute software engineering road maps, plans, schedules, and resource fulfillment analysis including managing joint development with 3rd party vendors and outsourced development efforts.
Capture and distribute performance metrics meant to decrease technical debt and increase time to market
Be a thought leader of employee development, teambuilding, coaching, and mentoring.
Up to 20- 25% travel may be required within the US. Roughly just a few times a year, Atlantic city NJ, Tampa, FL or Las Vegas, NV
1. Responsible for ensuring all internal management of projects and communications of these are managed efficiently, effectively and professionally at all times
2. Responsible for setting periodic meetings, conference calls, last minute requests/calls to connect all stakeholders
3. A flexible, adaptable and team oriented mentality is required in order to adapt communication methods, styles, and tone appropriate to the corresponding stakeholder
4. Ability to handle urgent, last minute requests while simultaneously assisting and supporting multiple departments
5. Comfortable working in fast-paced, deliverable-based oriented environment which can be high stress
6. Attention to detail, organized and ability to problem solve will be critical for this role
7. Understands business metrics and how they help set priorities for overall efforts
8. Will be supporting teams that are responsible high visibility, high impact deliverables
9. Capable of gracefully juggling multiple tasks – without dropping the ball
10. Ensure continuous improvement and refinement of all initiatives after implementation

12. Financial Responsibilities: Responsible for supporting the development of strategies to achieve revenue targets in excess of $4B in annual net product revenue
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience, PMI certification a plus
8 or more years of related experience – with the ability to demonstrate at least 3 years of first hand high level experience in information technology related project management or similar experience
Bachelors or Associate degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields preferred or equivalent experience
Casino gaming and/or hospitality experience preferred
Expert at resolving impediments, being a strategic thinker, preventing risks and minimizing issuesstrong understanding of, and ability to execute project management methodologies and tools
Ability to lead a team in the successful completion of projected related activities per an approved plan
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong team player with willingness to collaborate
Strong analytical and problem solving/decision making skills
5+ years IT work experience
3+ years managing projects
QUALIFICATIONS
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deal with a diverse range of people, which includes the upper levels of corporate management
Self-sufficient, requiring limited supervision over job knowledge, expectations and successful project completion
Working knowledge of Project Management tools and Visio – required
In-depth knowledge of one or more aspects of the business, e.g. gaming, hotel operations, personnel procedures, financial controls, etc.
Knowledge of Infinium, Infogenesis, LMS, Kronos or SWS is a plus to have
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of one year of Software Development Project Management experience.
PMP or CSM Certification helpful, but not required.
Insurance Industry experience preferred, but not required.
Proficiency with MS Office (Including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
Proficiency with MS Project and MS Visio preferred.
Experience managing development projects using an Agile development approach
Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to create systems and user documents and similar documentation
Experience with high visibility projects, comfortable reporting status and issues to C level management
Experience managing all phases of SDLC and/or ALM for application development efforts.
Experience documenting business work flows and reengineering work flows to leverage new system and technology capabilities.
Highly personable and able to communicate clearly and build strong relationship across business groups and with IT personnel
quirements.
Ability to translate business requirements to technical requirements to enable IT technical teams
