Hello,

FYI: If anyone follows along:

I've moved the generated football.json datasets to a new (GitHub)
org, that is,
let's welcome opendata.json [1].

I've also moved the book-in-progress, that is,The Free Footbal
Alamanac to its own (new) org, that is, let's welcome footballbook
[2].

I've also started merging / consolidating all docs (e.g.
build-shell, api, etc.) in the /docs repo [3].

And moved all build repos (auto, build) to the /yorobot [4] org to
get some automatic daily, weekly, monthly buids going (in 2017).

Why? Why?

The idea is to keep the "core" openfootball org focused on football
datasets and make it easier to get started (and by avoiding the
confusion with too many included project and tool repos).

Questions? Comments? Welcome. Enjoy the beatiful game. Cheers.

Hi Gerald,

Thanks for all your hard work! I'm just just getting into openfootball and I love the project! I've been thinking about using football.json API for a project but it looks like the build script hasn't run since October 15th (matchday 8) - just wanted to let you know.

Hello,
Thanks for your kind words.

Thanks for the reminder (for now it's still "by hand".) The idea is
to get an automatic build running in 2017.

Note: You can always build your own football.json datasets, see
/yorobot/football [1] Once everything is setup it's:

$ rake build
$ rake json

Or "better" build a "dynamic" JSON API with your language of choice. See the

sport.db Starter Kits samples (e.g. Ruby, Go, Node.js) [2] to get
started. Cheers.

Thanks so much Gerald! wow, I didn't know you did the updates by hand still. thanks for the links and tips, I'll start down that path I think.

"By hand" - I mean starting the build script commands "by hand" in the
shell (terminal/command line) and than copying the football.json files
to the repo and git commit. Cheers.

Hello,
The football.db is free but self-service e.g. serve and help
yourself - e.g. clone the repo, build yourself a database, etc.
Cheers.
