Is there a way to configure opensphere timeline to play seconds as opposed to fps?

Opensphere displays a window of time rather than a time instant. You can configure this in the Timeline's Animation Settings:

Window: the length of time back from the right edge to show

Skip: the amount of time to increment on each frame

If you set the Skip to 1 second and drop the FPS to 1, you'll get close to what you want.

If you're trying to sync it to some other timer, such as a video, you can do that but there are a lot more cases to cover.
