Hi, everyone,
I am using GeoDA for spatial autocorrelation analysis, but now stuck in a problem. I downloaded a world map in shape format, and I added a value of patent amount, but not the whole area have a value, there are missing value in the shape file. So, the moran's I is not much large, and the local morans' I have mistakes. I tried to delete the area of missing data, but the world map could not be showed correctly. So I just ask for ways to solve missing data problem, and the world map could be correctly showed too.

Hi,

If you don’t have many countries with missing data, you could separate the local Moran’s I calculation from the visualization. For instance, for the spatial file with missing countries excluded, get the local Moran’s I values for spatial weights that make sense (e.g., KNN?). Save the results and merge them in a GIS with the full country file, so you can display the countries with significant cluster cores (and neighbors if you want) as well as those countries with missing values (added as extra category to the 5 LISA categories). Then explain the methodology so it’s clear that the countries with missing values were excluded from the analysis.

If you have a lot of countries with missing data, then local cluster analysis will probably not make much sense.
