The way that I found out about RU's plot to start an open source
political party was through his facebook group. Can we resurrect the
old one or start a new one? Presence on social networks is essential
for starting net-roots movements!

Yeah, starting an Open Source Party facebook group makes good sense!

Personally I rarely use Facebook and dislike it... and I guess there's
some risk of dilution if we have discussion on Facebook and via Google
Groups (though I personally would very rarely participate in
discussion on Facebook anyway...). But I agree Facebook is a very
useful publicity tool....

Twitter may also be worth pursuing; I do use that regularly.... But
building up a serious Twitter following would require some effort,
which I don't have time for. (For example, someone could write a
script to find people who send tweets using certain words, and then
have the opensourceparty twitter account follow those people, and a
certain percentage will follow back... that's one way to build a big
following, but it takes time and effort...)

Looks good!

I think you should add a link to the OSP web page, to the Facebook
group description....

You can make me an admin, if you'd like. I don't have much time to do anything for the next week, but later I can jump in and help.
