bace has inspired the austin time exchange (aten) board (thanks to
rich vazquez) to abandon the edge branch for the master branch and
this weekend i will start merging a lot of the bace code into the
master branch and ATEN will be be running with the master branch which
is compatible with heroku.
what this means is that sphinx and probably workling/starling will no
longer be in the codebase. you will be able to choose where you store
images. if you're running on heroku, you should use S3 (which is
trivial to set up) but if you're not you will be able to use the
filesystem as well.
by deprecating the edge branch, this should make the different forks
from different communities have more in common and give developers
more opportunities to help each other. again, a big thanks to lee
azzarello for being the catalyst for heroku support.
also, rich and i should have the i18n branch merged in within the next
week or two and i'm also working on facebook connect support.
this seems the best way to go. comments?
cheers,
tom
