K40 only hissing no laser

Hi!

I got a new K40 laser last week. Unfortunately it obviously crashed pretty heavily on one side. There was a bended corner. I already contacted the seller and will get some discounts. Still I want to know whether it works at all or not.

After some minor issues everything is running fine. Only the laser itself is not working. When I press the test button, there is a hissing noise but no laser beam. I've put a piece of paper directly in front of the laser tube. Does that mean, the laser tube is broken? There are maybe some small fractures visible (see pictures).

Also I checked the connections of the PSU. I find them quite weird. There are red wire connections, that seem to be connected directly to ground.
