Hi few questions

Some Background, AJ bequeathed me his bluebox laser cutter with the Azteeg x5 electronics, and a bunch of other stuff ;- ) . Thanks AJ again.

I'd like to read up on the laser cutter some more and well especially the smoothie laser firmware. Also I know I could use an SD card and file to operate the laser cutter but I was wondering if there is an app similar to pronterface that I could use to test fire the laser move the mechanics etc.
Also I would like to know more about the laser dot size at the focal point no one really talks about this much.
I know that for cutting the focus should be in the middle of the material.
For engraving shouldn't it be like as close as possible to just beneath the surface?
What software do you guys use to cut vs making engravings?
How do you adjust power? I mean what are good settings for the blue box for luan?
I'd figure I'd try to make some wooden business cards 1st to get my bearings b4 I try using matt black paint on copper circuit boards as etch resist.
Sorry for the long post just trying to get started here so I can get this thing going.
Oh one more question AJ removed the rubber feet to get it ready for boxing up anybody here can take a photo of the bottom of their laser cutter do I know exactly where they go.
