Hi,

my WIDI Jack gets connected, but not MIDI signals are send since last update. Send MIDI ist turned on on first MIDI page, see 1st screenshot.

Even when I activate MIDI-Clock Master,

after few seconds MIDI send stops working.
When I leave this page and come back again, MIDI clock master switch is toggled off again.

What can I do to get it working again?
I need this feature to change all the patches of my MIDI devices when I select the next song ;)

Thanks for your advice!

Best Regards,
Chris

If you want the MIDI master clock to be sent continuously, you need to switch off the midi clock burst mode.
MIDI clock is quite intensive for the device as it seems 24 pulses per quarter note - that's a lot of midi messages being sent continuously.

You should only need to send midi clock continuously if you need OpenSongApp to keep multiple devices at the same tempo (e.g. looper and drum machine).

Sending a midi message such as a patch number to a device when the song loads does not require MIDI clock.  Is it this part that isn't working?

Hi,

I resetted everything. Now it works again sending program changes (PC) per MIDI. What doesn't work is sending MIDI clock. No devices receive permanent clock information.

Other devices in that MIDI chain can send MIDI-Clock and it works when I turn it on. Via OpenSong I cannot send MIDI-Clock information to my devices. Is Opensong sending Standard-MIDI-Clock (F8)?

BR,
Chris

Hi Christian,

I've just tested this with my device running v6.7.6 connected via WIDI BLE midi adapter connected to my VL3X, then BeatBuddy and then Aeros looper.  All devices receive the MIDI clock and adjust tempo accordingly.
The app sends the standard MIDI clock (that is used to set tempo) (byte) 0xF8
You can also switch on the option to include MIDI clock start/stop as well from that page. (byte) 0xFA / (byte) 0xFC

However, what I have spotted is that there is a bug with the MIDI clock set to burst mode - this does wrongly switch off the MIDI clock completely and doesn't restart it when you change songs - is this your issue?  When the MIDI clock is switched on and burst mode is switched off, it should be sending properly.  Also, make sure that you connect your MIDI device before switching on the MIDI clock.  Also, because of the potential battery drain caused by excessive MIDI clock messages, you do have to manually switch this on each time you start the app and connect a MIDI device.

If this sounds like a fix for your issues, I'll add it to the release planned for this week.

Gareth
