Hi Gareth
Got myself in a bit of a pickle the other day trying to download songs from UG. Because I have done this so many times I admit I did not even notice a new switch "Request desktop site". Silly me!! Later, I noticed this was switched off.
So, I entered the search text, with website set to UltimateGuitar and clicked search. Up came a list of song matches in the UG site. So I selected the one I wanted, and when prompted, selected to continue (rather than use the UG App, which I don't have, or want), and when the song displayed and I scrolled down, clicked the download button.
Then I got the Filename and Folder prompt. The file name showed the song name plus some other text seemingly the search parameters. When I selected Save, I was quickly returned to the song screen with a popup stating "Success", but the displayed song was as before the attempted download. The new song was nowhere to be found in any of the App folders or song lists.
It was about the third or fourth attempt that I noticed the new switch to request the Desktop site, and having set this to the on position and proceeding with the search and download every thing was hunky dory and worked as expected. When I thought about this I do remember seeing a post about the desktop site and feel foolish for not seeing it at the first attempt.
However, I generally don't use any download sites other than UG so I do not know how these sites behave with the App; but I wonder if a warning would be useful to users selecting the UG Website and having the Desktop switch turned off? I suggest this because I was initially floored when my downloads didn't happen as expected, even though I had a displayed message that the download was a "Success".
It may be easier for the App to automatically set the switch to on if a user selects UG as the Website.
Just a suggestion. Sorry the post is so long.
All the best
Mark
