Hello I just wanted to say ty for creating such an amazing app I just joined my church music ministry and they sent me all this sheet music and I was trying to find a way to organize and then your app appeared. God is good!

So quick question the worship pastor sent me pdf files they all loaded perfect in your app. But my question was am I supposed to see colors on the music separating sections becuase if I should I dont see any colors just the regular pdf itself.

Hi Clifford,

Good to have you on board!  The downside (or good side) of a PDF is that it will always look the same on any device.  Whoever created it decides on how it should look.  Opensongapp can't change th7is I'm afraid.
If you want to change the layout, colours, text or chords, you'd need to convert the pdf to OpenSong format.  The app can help - if you edit the song, there is an OCR (optical character recognition) feature that will try to extract the text from PDF or image files.  It isn't perfect, but it might help.

If you are using songs on the fly from others, PDF files are fine to start with, but it definitely worth the effort covering the songs.  You can then use all of the app features (transpose, edit formatting, etc).

Yes, OCR is to recognised what looks like text when displayed on screen, so deals with PDF and images only.  What file types are you thinking of?  The app can import and attempt to convert ChordPro, text files and Word (.docx only) files.

Also is there a way to delete multiple songs at one time?

Not in the app.  I got fed up with users telling me the app had deleted all their songs so I removed that function.  You can delete one at a time in the app but you will also get a warning.  You can, however, simply use any file manager and delete the song files you don't want.  When you start the app, run the full index option to let opensongapp check for changes

ok now I tried doing the OCR text import and it looked great very organized on almost all the songs I tried it with. But for some reason 1 or 2 of the songs it looks like the chorus got squeezed together and chords look misaligned. How would you recommend I fix that. I have attached the 2 files for reference here is the text file I copied the songs from online. Also I have attached a screenshot of the app with the same song but something looks off?

Chords lines should start with a . and lyrics with a space.  This is the correct format for OpenSong.

You can open the song editor, go to the lyrics parts and fix there.  There is also an autistic option that will try to help.  You can find out more about this and other app features on the website:

Wonderful now I saw something in this app that said finger graphs which would help me because I play guitar. Where can I find out more about what that feature is?

The help features of this app are amazing. When I get stuck i can usually find what I need there.  Here is the link to the chord options.
