Voicelive Command Bug

When I go to the Midi editor for each song and choose a Voicelive command, no matter which channel I select it defaults to midi channel 1.  Also, when I choose VLVHS it lists a question mark instead of controller 31.

I'm trying to run the settings of all of my devices from the OpenSong app.  If I use the specific Voicelive section I can't get the order correct, for example the key changes first then the program change happens, which overrides my key selection.

Also, I had to change to midi channel 9 because the keyboard I'm using to send note information seems to send unauthorized messages on the other channels causing unwanted program changes on the Voicelive.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi Linda,

If you set the global midi channel of the voice live in utilities>Voice live, the app will automatically change any static song midi messages when it gets sent too the device.  Don't worry about the midi channel in the shorthand code.

I can't reproduce the shorthand option issue you see for the harmony scale.  I've attached what I see.  Are we talking about the same menu?

If you send multiple voicelice settings, here's the order:
Song must go first (since a song will have it's own tempo, key, etc).
Then send the new key
Then send the new harmony scale if required.

If they aren't working properly, try increasing the midi send delay higher than 100ms

Let me know if this helps, or if you need more info, etc

Gareth

Thanks for the update - I hadn't saved the message, so hadn't seen that part.
I've fixed the ? part.  This was happening due to the app not recognising the VLVHS command.

The channel 1 issue is because the app has a MIDI channel override for any VoiceLive messages (set in Settings > Utilities > VoiceLive).  You still have this set to channel 1, which is why the MIDI message keeps showing Channel 1 at the top even when the shorthand MIDI message shows MIDI channel 9.
The reason for having this override is so that if you need to change your VoiceLive MIDI channel, you don't have to manually edit every single song for the VL MIDI messages - the app automatically parses the shorthand MIDI code and swaps out the MIDI channel.  I will, however, edit the MIDI popup screen to update the VoiceLive override channel if you save a new VoiceLive message (e.g. if you set channel 9 here).

Expect the fix in the next release
