Hi, I love OpenSongApp. I'm a very new user, and in this short time (2 months) I've felt very comfortable with the mobile app. Thanks, Gareth and the community.

Let me explain what the title says; I hope I don't bother or offend anyone: I went crazy looking for the PC version only to realize it was from a different developer, and honestly, I didn't feel very comfortable with that software. So, one morning I decided to create a browser-based editor, designed solely as an additional tool for OpenSongApp. My editor only has a few basic functions (I'm not a programmer or developer), the idea just popped into my head. Now that I think I've achieved at least a useful result, I realized that perhaps I should have consulted the community to see if anyone else would be interested in something like this, or perhaps I could have used that time for something more needed, or maybe collaborate with someone who knows programming and contribute to something bigger and more relevant to the community. Anyway, it's done. I thought about just sharing it in case it was useful to someone, but I feel the need to ask permission first. Regardless of what happens, I'd like to be part of this community and, if possible, contribute in the future. Greetings from Mexico.

Hi Edgar,

That does sound interesting.  I have been thinking about something like this for a while, but I wasn't quite sure how to best deal with accessing the local storage using a browser and have been to busy with the Android version!

A companion web version works give so many more options such as allowing working on a larger screen (desktop) and could include more of the OpenSongApp features that aren't in the current desktop OpenSong software.  Depending on what features could be implemented, it could also further allow Android users in a group to share their songs with iOS users (if they didn't want to use the web server feature of OpenSongApp).  I have in the past contributed to the development of OpenSong, but the software used (RealBasic) was no longer free to use, and that forced my hand to develop OpenSongApp using open source code and free to use software.

I'd definitely be interested in seeing what you've achieved.  I, like you, wanted to create something that complemented other software that didn't quite work for me anymore.  It's even better if you are happy to open up your development work for others to collaborate with you.

Gareth

P.S. I'm also delighted that you enjoy OpenSongApp

I am sure that I am not the only reader here who would also like to find ways to contribute to this. Thank, Edgar, for starting this conversation!
