Hi there,
I am new user of OpenSong. Appreciate if you can provide some advice here as I couldn't find from online.
I have received shared folder from friend through just chords, and try to pull all the songs into my OpenSong App here. However it did not complete grab all the songs, said it got 144 total songs, but I only can get 132 songs into my OpenSong in my local storage. The sets I only can get the SET folder name without content, all are empty inside the SET folders. Not the same as just chords have with all the songs listed in the shared folder & the set folders.

What should I need to set or check?
I have uninstalled/reinstalled multiple times and try to point back to the remote server and get the updates from "check updates", and then pull again few times. Unfortunately not successful.
Please help and thanks.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out!
OpenSongApp (Android) and JustChords (iOS) deal with songs and sets slightly differently, but do their best to synchronise what they can via the OpenChords server - we both promote each other's apps for this very reason!

If you are willing (check it is ok with your friend as well), send me the link as a private email to the shared folder and I will test that for you.  If your friend is using songs that aren't native JustChords files (e.g. images/PDFs, this could be the issue with the 'missing' songs, but I'd need to check that out.

To access any synchronised sets on your device, you have to make sure you select the OpenChords set category to be able to see the set.  To load theses, go to Settings > Manage Sets > Load sets.  From the page that loads, click on the category list and select OpenChords.  You should then be able to see and load synchronised sets.  In OpenSongApp, the setlist simply has links to the songs on your device (so they have to be synchronised as well).

I'm assuming you've checked out this page on my user manual: https://www.opensongapp.com/user-manual/storage/openchords
This will take you through the steps.

Make sure you watch the video shared on that page, particularly from 2:41 - https://youtu.be/SHJ3t-T-LmM?si=nllvJYbcW5z5DST2&t=161

Please let me know how you get on, and if you need further help (or message me privately with the openchords folder link)

Gareth
