Having major problems getting the app to open properly.
Samsung S6 Lite tablet with heaps of memory and space.
No other apps running.
Try to open Opensongapp
Index songs displayed
Select an option
Files are being processed:storage msg at bottom of screen
Then msg "Current Set"is displayed.
"Building song index" displayed
Then app crashes.
This was repeated 4 times in succession starting app from original icon.

I then tried opening the app again from the background, and finally managed after several attempts to get the app running properly.

Note: Current set has not yet been saved. I currently have around 20 - 30 sets saved in Category Main. Saved the current set, and then selected to create a new blank set.
Didn't help, so my initial thoughts that the sets files may be corrupted doesn't seem to be the problem.

I have powered down and then restarted the tablet, and unfortunately the problem remains.

PLEASE can you suggest what may be wrong or corrupted so I can get this fixed. I am currently trying to use the app on a daily basis, so this is becoming a bit of a major issue.
Regards
Mark

Hi Mark,

I wonder if there is a corrupt song file somewhere in your Songs folder.
If you navigate to the OpenSong/Settings/ folder, there should be a file called CrashLog.txt that collects any unknown crashes (if it's not there, I might be able to track down the crash on Google Play logs if you installed the app from there).  Also you could look at the file named fileWriteActivity.txt in the same folder.  It lists file processes as the app boots and under normal usage.  The newest activity will be at the end of these files.  It should show any issues with song files.  You could send them to me if that helps and I'll have a look for you.
If the files are large, you could delete them and then start the app - they will be recreated.

Hi Gareth
Thanks for the quick response. Had a look at these files which were quite large but couldn't immediately see any issues (that I could understand). So deleted files, then tried to start app again. Crashed, but new files have been created. Again, I am not at all familiar with Android coding so can't see any obvious issues. Will send files to you so you can look and see if you can diagnose issue.
I have app installed on my phone as well, which I update every now and then with backup files from my tablet. Phone app appears to be working ok so I thought if I compare songs on both I will find the newest that exist on tablet but not phone and this will give me songs that could be the culprit, and I can then look at the isolated individual song files for corruption. If I find anything, will let you know.
Rgds
Mark
