Hello,

I use opensongapp several years now and am very satisfied with it. I think that since the last update I can't import songs anymore . I get the message ' this song isn't on your device. Have you deleted it?'

I also can' t change the lyrics anymore.

What could be the problem?
I use the app on a Samsung Galaxy tab A SM-T510

Hope you have the solution for me.

Can you give me an example of how you import a song (e.g. from UG, etc. and does this happen with all songs?)
I've tested this just now and it seems to be working for me.

Hi Gareth,

I download from UG and it happen with the last three songs. I choose + and import or create songs, online. Then UG opens and I choose  the downloadbutton. The song opens

 And then I choose save.

As you can see in the picture this happens.
It also happens when I use chordie.
Songs which I have earlier imported can’t be changed, when I trust to do so.

Regards Symonne

Can you check if you are on the newest version of the app v6.7.6 (you can check this from the settings menu and selecting the about option).  I did try to put in a catch for this error in the last release.  I'm assuming the files are actually saved to the device (you can check using a file browser).
For info, you can take a screen shot directly on your device usually by pressing the power and volume down buttons at the same time.

Here's a recording of what I am seeing (I am getting to the online import screen in a different way to you, but that isn't the issue):

Can you try repeating my steps if you are doing anything different.

On a different topic, I notice that there might be something wrong with your theme setup - you seem to have a light theme for the menus, but a dark theme for the lyrics?  If you want a light theme, you should be able to fix this by going to Settings > Display > Edit or change current theme, then selecting Dark mode and then selecting light mode.  If you want dark mode, select light mode first, then select dark mode.  By selecting the opposite theme first you will override any incorrect settings you have.

A reminder, that if you want to share what is on your screen, please use the built in screenshot function on your android device (tap the power and volume down buttons together).  This will ensure that the resolution is clear enough for me to read.  The photographs aren't quite clear enough to read the text shown on your screen.

After you have tried to import a song (such as 'Peggy sue'), but you seen the 'Song not found' message, did you check to see if the song file is actually created?  You can do this with Android's file manager software and looking inside OpenSong/Songs/.

Can you also send me you OpenSong/Settings/fileWriteActivity.txt file immediately after you next see this error.  It will hopefully show me what the app is doing/not doing when you import a song.

Best wishes,
Gareth
