List of many apps affected by the automatic reviewer bug

Three days ago, I sent a message to Bruno Oliveira concerning a bug in
automatic reviewer that removed a lot of apps from the directory. No
answer and no action.

Today, I posted messages to Tiago Silveira and Paulo Golgher, talking
about Profile Posters (which was removed as well). No answers, but the
app was back to the directory.

I believe that Bruno Oliveira doesn't work with orkut any more.

The following is a list of applications that I could find that were
removed from the directory due to this bug. I believe that there are
many more.

I hope orkut team can fix them too.

Why do you think all those from the list were removed due to a bug in app reviewer?

 

At least some of those are a rip-off of popular online flash games iframed and stuffed with ads.

Hello!

We found a problem with AppReviewer that caused some apps to be incorrectly removed.

It's fixed now, so you should be able to resubmit your apps :)

It is not a matter of resubmit removed apps, because that's
impossible. Once it's set at "desconhecido", you cannot do anything to
set an XML as a valid app again.

What matter more here is the installed users of old applications, and
not new apps.

Orkut team should reflag them as whitelisted, else ALL these
application had lost thousands of users forever because of a bug.

Ah, that's true. Some apps may go to the "unknown" (desconhecido) state due to an unrelated bug. We'll fix that as soon as possible so you can resubmit apps.

In the long term, having to submit each XML again it's OK.

However, I did nothing and my apps were removed, so it makes more
sense if orkut team restores them manually and runs the reviewer,
because this is urgent.

How long it will take to fix the resubmission? People are losing A LOT
of pageviews ($$$) since Saturday, and each second without the apps
counts.

We're currently fixing the "desconhecido" bug and you will soon be able to resubmit applications.

Yes, we understand that having to resubmit them is inconvenient, and we're sorry for the trouble, but at this time we don't plan to restore these applications due to technical limitations.

The "desconhecido" bug was fixed. You should now be able to resubmit your applications.

It's true. It cost a lot to have our audience now for a mere bug, we have all for lost.

Not to mention that we lost the status of applications in orkut directory.

Now start from scratch unable to resubmit the same application will be difficult.

They could do a resend feature for our applications that are given as unknown.

A simple backup could rescue

It was not fixed, it's the same.

The only button that is available for "unknown" apps is "Ver".

This is not fixed and there is no feedback.

Remember that this is due to a bug introduced by orkut team that
removed a lot of applications that were doing nothing wrong, and it's
13 days with no fix.

Can you clarify? None of the applications should appear as "unknown" in the developer page. They should appear as "rejected" with a button for resubmitting without the need to create a new application. Can you give us an AppID that shows as "unknown" so we can verify?

"unknown", with no option to resubmit.

Resolved. The three apps you mentioned should show as "rejected" soon so you can resubmit (however, this was just done, so it may take 72 hours or so for the caches to update and for the change to take effect).

few of my big application are getting vanished from apps  directory. They are in application directory since last 2-3 Years and now suddenly they are diapered for some malicious reason. But time to we know there are no such malicious contents in our apps. Please take a look on this issue and restore apps in apps direcotory as we are loosing apps ranking and listing which is again pur hard work to bring them on that position.
