Hi,

I am unable to see friends list using the example code given in the
documentation.
Can someone help me?

can the friend list only fetch the developers who are friends?

Thanks,
Chandra

Hi Chandra,

For security purposes, the sandbox will only return information
about friends who are also whitelisted. Please sign up additional
accounts if you need to test against a friends list.

Dear Arne,
I'm sorry I'm new to this but I'm sure you can help me! :-)
With the friends list it only shows people who also have an opensocial
account?
I'm not sure exactly what you mean by the whitelisted.
Also if that's the case doesn't that mean that friends who have an
orkut account still need to sign up to opensocial for the api to
work?!
Finally I'm having a lot of problems with the ClientLogin - I wanted
my api to login to my account using my username and password but can't
figure out how to do it from the tutorial.
Wondering if you might be able to show me a coded example?
Thank you very much!
Olga

You are correct. For friends to be accessible to your API on Orkut
they have to be whitelisted as opensocial developers, which just means
that they have applied for developer access to sandbox.orkut.com.

I forgot to mention that there is a discussion elsewhere on this forum
where you can sign up to get lots of whitelisted friends for testing
purposes.

What would be very nice is a way to generate fake activities such as
adding and deleting friends.
