I've been working for more than a year now as technical support in an
educational opensim pilot in the Nederlands, which focus is to link several
educational grids from schools/universities together through hypergrid.
Currently i'm focussed on developing a html5 webportal for
opensim(https://github.com/phrearch/hwios), which offers opensim admin
tools(remote service , region, IAR/OAR, profile management) and a realtime
distributed wiki(multi-user editing), using the adopted protocol. It's focus
is to make it easier for educators to control an opensim grid, through a
simple-to-use webinterface, and to make online collaboration with text-tools
more interesting and powerful. The project is now almost 1.5 years old, and is
starting to become useable(finally!).
The educational use of opensim interests me, because of the possibilities to
share information and experience within a ring of schools/universities.
Techniques like rdf and hypergrid could play an important role in making
information more accessible and more fun to interact with. I'm looking forward
to share information and experience within this group.
kind regards,
Jeroen
@Lindy and Jeroen: It's great to meet you, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you'll accomplish!
I should probably introduce my digital half (or halves?) as well. In SL I'm Echelon Strauss, on OSGrid I lurk around as YetAnother Avatar, and pretty much everywhere else I'm Echelon Override.
