JSON gains official support in XPath & XQuery 3.1

This looks significant.
 
With XPath & XQuery 3.1 and XSLT 3.0, JSON gained official support in the XML world.
 
oXygen XML 21.0 follows this trend by making JSON a first class citizen in this XML IDE. Really impressive integration.

Especially since you can use XML and JSON in the same queries, producing either JSON or XML as a result.

Working with linguistic data, it's often important to be able to use both kinds of data.
