Hi all,

With Paddy's day, this week's a bit shorter. Plus some of us said they'll go to the NGS meeting on Monday 24th of March here in UCD.

I'll start here a thread where any of you can mention if they want to talk about something for an upcoming meeting. If there is enough before the 31st, then we can organise a meeting then ok?

Question:
Did anyone have to demultiplex sequencing samples where the barcode was returned in the header of the reads (as opposed to the start of the sequence)?
In our group we currently use a custom Perl script. I'd like to compare the speed with a dedicated software like fastx barcode splitter. However all the tools I have come across so far seem to expect the barcode in the read sequence, not the header.

Cheers,
kevin
