JSON representations

Hi all,

I wanted to get a few more eyes on a PR from December that proposes a JSON serialization of OpenSearch-flavored search results.

It uses JSON-HAL (https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-kelly-json-hal-08) to represent link relationships, which seems as sane as any proposal to me, but I'm not up on the state of the art and don't consider myself an authority.

I would encourage others to weigh in on that PR if you're interested.
