Recently there have been several private email discussions taking place
and momentum building toward having a crowd-source interface to analyze
the morphology of the Hebrew Bible.
In discussing the matter with Weston, we agreed that starting a separate
list for such discussions would be a beneficial, both to keep the
OpenScriptures list free from the technical detail and to keep
discussions about the OpenScriptures Hebrew Bible Project focused. It is
a related and complementary task to the API work but more
content-driven. This is not a mutiny but rather a joint decision to keep
discussion focused.
If anyone on this list has been waiting to get involved in this project,
feel free to come to

ask to join the group.

Very exciting developments!
As to having separate groups for specific interest areas, this is similar to what the Open Siddur folks have done. They have at least 4 groups:

opensiddur-dev
opensiddur-announce
