Good morning,
Not sure how to add a non-OSF user as a collaborator to your project? Through the addition of the Open Science Framework's (
http://osf.io/) new contributor management page, you can now add contributors who do not have an OSF account.
How to add unregistered contributors
- At your project page, click the "Contributors" tab.
- Click "Click to add a contributor".
- Enter the name you want to add in the search bar.
- If the person you are looking for is not listed, click the link to "add <NAME> as an unregistered contributor".
- You can then enter the person's email address so they can claim their account. This is optional but highly recommended. If you do not enter an email address, you may receive emails when someone tries to claim the unregistered account. This is to protect the security of your project.
On a related note, you can also now claim yourself as a contributor on public projects if a collaborator has added you to a project as an unregistered contributor.
How to claim an unregistered contributor
- Create an OSF account if you don't already have one.
- Go to the project page where your name is listed.
- Click your name in the contributor list in the header and click "OK" at the confirmation dialog.
- That's all! A contributor on the project will be emailed and asked to confirm your identity. They will send you a confirmation link to complete the claiming process.
We hope this new feature will make it easier for researchers like yourself to become active contributors on OSF projects.
Best wishes,
