Just wondering if there were any plans to convert this for the GPU
preformance?

Hi, 

We saw that using stage3D instead of using "classic" stage can give serious performance increase even on 2D context. Still, we did not take time to try this out for now. It's in the todo list. :)

Yay ! That's sound really cool. but currently i think the best is to look upon the issue with tiles , which seems sometimes just stuck while zooming-outzooming... :|

It is serious issue fellows. please check it :)

And yet - good work ! :)
