Mashup Camp (
www.mashupcamp.com) just wrapped up.
A lot of expertise and amazing tools out there. The Web 2.0/Ajax world
is definitely getting more sophisticated. The demos pretty much
consisted of:
Mashup IDEs & Connectors. Lots of "wow" GUIs for building apps and
mashups.
Mobility & Voice components. Ability to add voice and phone-based
location components to your mashup.
Map-oriented mashups. Exploring info (events, photos, places, etc.)
on a map.
Big-Guy tools and components - AOL Dev network, Yahoo Developer
tools, Google Widgets and OpenSocial.
We showed OpenSAM during our informal 'No API" session. A lot of
discussion about WebDAV and the power it offers (OpenSAM is centered
around WebDAV). Developers and management alike support the idea of
unifying and standardizing document access, management, and
application launch so that they can be easily mashed up.
We look forward to attending next year's Mashup Camp.
