Hi there,

As discussed on dev calles before, I'm currently looking into replacing the current image creation process.

The goal is:
Take a 'stock' (demo) image from http://elinux.org/BeagleBoardUbuntu
and make it into an OpenROV image in an automatic way.

I've done a lot of work around the image creation and it involves a lot of know how about Linux, cross compiling and all that stuff. It's really to much to explain that here in a few sentences. If you wan't to look into this, ping me and we can talk about it!

Aka the experimental Ububtu 13.10 Saucy

As I'm still in the experimentation phase, it's not yet automated, but I have pretty much a step by step command list (yes that's like a script).

There are still a few things missing:
- The network configuration (/etc/network/interfaces) get's overwritten by something. Have to find out by what
- the demo images on Ubuntu 12.10 and 13.10 for the BeagleBone (and BB Black for that matter) use the Linux Kernel 3.8. This changed the pin mux and gpio interface that means, setup of the MUX doens't work anymore and I guess that renders the serial connection to the arduino not working.

For the MUX thing, have a look at
And

If you wan't to lend a hand or two, give me a shout!

Cheers,
Dominik
